Summary/Abstract: During less than a decade and a half Slovenian public administration experienced more changes than previously during a longer period of time. Causes of the reformation processes were different. The firs one is certainly in political changes in Slovenia during the second half of 1980s. Democratization brought also about other processes, among others also independence of the Republic of Slovenia from a previously common state. Emergence of a new state is the other reason for radical changes. Third ones are certainly preparations and entrance of Slovenia into the European Union. Already in the introduction it is necessary to stress the opinion of the author that the reform I write in the continuation of the article is not a completed act. Not only because it is still not completed, but because the changes of public administration are a permanent process. Pubic administration is a system which needs to constantly adapt to social changes.
