The reviewer acknowledges the latest monograph by a well-known Austrian histo¬rian, in which she continues in her tradition of biographies interpreting a wide scope of cultural history of a certain period. In the reviewed book, the author analyzes the political developments in Bayreuth during the Nazi period when the town became a center of Wagner's cult.
