Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to partly characterize (at phonetic and inflectional levels) Polish local dialects of Drohiczyn area at the turn of 19th and 20th century. The basis of the present study is the archival dialect material collected over one hundred years ago by a Vilnius medicine doctor and social-educational activist Ludwik Czarkowski who included his ethnographic study of former Bielsk Land in the study entitled {Local Dialect Dictionary Starting from Drohiczyn} (in chapter {Dialect Properties}).
