Summary/Abstract: The author of the paper indicates that authors of studies on the Polish language used by inhabitants of the Northern Borderlands usually discuss only some, best known, most often confirmed aspects of the language which they have gathered in their records. Nowadays, those features are extensively and thoroughly documented, researched, and described. It often happens that other aspects characteristic for the language of inhabitants of the Northern Borderlands which are not as frequent are even not recorded by the authors. That situation creates research problems, especially in interpretation including the risk of considering an old Northern Borderland feature as a neologism. The article presents a number such poorly known regional features.
