Summary/Abstract: Aušra Vasiliauskaitė Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas Vytautas Magnus University Kauno seserų benediktinių vienuolynas Kaunas Benedictine monastery sesegabriele@gmail.com Dviejų dalių straipsnyje nagrinėjama sielovada šv. Benedikto reguloje. Straipsnyje analizuojamas patristikos laikotarpis (I a. pab. – IX a. pr.), norint išsiaiškinti sielovados sampratos kaitą prieš šv. Benedikto regulos paplitimą ir po jo. The two-part paper deals with pastoral care in the Rule of St. Benedict. It may be beneficial not only in evaluating the reasons for the spread of the Rule in missionary work during the collapse of the Roman Empire but also in taking a closer glimpse at the nature of pastoral care as presented in Benedictine Rule. In addition, an emphasis is put on the novelty of the Rule of St. Benedict and its influence in the West. The subject is new and has not been analyzed in Europe yet. The author focuses on the Patristic era (the end of the 1st until the beginning of the 9th century AD) in an attempt to clarify the development of the conception of pastoral care before the spread of the Rule of St. Benedict and after it.
