The author starts her discussion with the presentation of the characteristics of the three major rules concerning the description of polysemous words whose aim is to disambiguate them. Next, the detailed description of one of the senses of the chosen word in French is presented with accordance to the presented criteria. In the last part of the article, the author tests the description of the word’s sense in a practical way. The test is carried out by means of randomly chosen by the Google search machine fragments of texts including the word in question here.
