Evaluation of concordat twenty years after its enactment

Summary/Abstract: The article aims to evaluate the Polish concordat twenty years after its enactment. Author reconsiders the fact that at the same time two important discussions were held in Poland – one devoted to concordat and another to the constitution – and claims that they influenced each other. It is important to remember that the legal solutions adopted in the concordat (ratified only in 1998) contributed towards the final shape of the constitutional relations between state and the Church. Therefore the proper assessment of the Polish concordat should be conducted in light of the current constitution.
