International trade of the European Union in high technology products during the economic downturn (2007-2012)

Summary/Abstract: High tech goods have been more and more important components of the international trade among the European Union countries, as well as in the global economy. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the European Union trade in high tech products during the global financial crisis and at the period of economic uncertainty in the euro zone. At the beginning, the economic tide in the European Union has been assessed from the perspective of manufacturing sector. Then the paper explores the main trends of international trade in high technology products on the single European market as well as outside it.
