Summary/Abstract: In this article I study the capacity of some Old Greek elements to derive, using specific prefixes and suffixes, new elements in Balkan languages such as Albanian, Bulgarian, Serbian and Romanian. I study the productivity of elements like ’άγγελος, ‛αγιάσμα, ’αργάτης, δάσκαλος, καλόγερος, κάματα, έλειψα, παιδαγογός, σχολή, χριστιανός, θεμέλιον, but not of Old Greek elements with a reduced capacity of inversion and composition nor of elements with no such capacities. I have also tried to classify these languages in accordance with the capacity of some Old Greek elements to derive new elements in Balkan languages.
