Ancient Greek Elements In Balkan Languages Up To The 17th Century

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the distribution of the ancient Greek elements in the Balkan Peninsula, and on the influential periods of the Greek civilization and culture in the area. One major interest is represented by the study the evolution of some Greek words in Romanian and Albanian. The period concerned starts in the 7th century B.C., when the first Greek colonies were certified on the Black Sea Coast, and lasts up to the 7th century A.C., when the Slavic population arrived.
