Interior 5 % loans with winnings: favorite paper of the Russian society

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the background and the mechanism of release of bonds of the 1st and 2nd five percent with winnings loans 1864 and 1866, two of the most popular and common securities in pre-revolutionary Russia. In the examples, taken from real life, Russian literature and journalism, shows the processes of transformation of the winning tickets in the object of Bank operations and speculation, given the reasons for their wide dissemination among different layers of the Russian society. Dozens, hundreds of thousands of people of different rank, position and status were the owners of these securities. Among them there were men and women, young and old, aristocrats and bureaucrats, commoners and officers, merchants and priests, farmers and workers.
