Summary/Abstract: The author deals with one of the questions concerning the specific character of the wedding folk-song scenario – the peculiarities of its composition related to its entire functional manifestation. The bulk of the matter is revealed after a more precise description is given to the idea of „a wedding folk-song scenario”, which she conceives as a scenario enriched in artistic values. The introduction of the terms „kernel songs” and „link songs” is done merely for the sake of carrying out the analysis of the composition. On the basis of this distinction an invariant scheme of the wedding act is drawn. It is built up by the „kernel songs” only, which are of an actual value with a view to the main elements of the ritual. The basic role of the „kernel songs” in terms of meaning and composition is also confirmed through the „check” in a purely traditional aspect, which examines in broad outlines the composition of the wedding scenario in terms of inception of the action, climax and dénouement. The separation of the „link songs” is based on their position with regard to the basic ritual and dramatic movements. Their hesitant position in the wedding folk-song scenario is explained trough circumstances from the sphere of genesis and function. Their differentiation into three groups is based on the type of explanatory function they perform and is supported by peculiarities in their regional distribution. The author draws finally the conclusion that the composition or the wedding folk-song scenario is centered around those points of the wedding ritual and dramatic play, which tradition has established as semantic (with a historically legal, economic, or ritual base) and emotional centres. Besides, the structure of the wedding scenario is connected by way of function to its improvisational realization.
