Summary/Abstract: Modern way of doing business includes some relevant elements: an intensive exploitation of information technology, culturally-diversified internal and external business' surroundings, frequent appearance of international alliances. Sources of competitive advantage are transferred slowly, but surely, on human resources. Classical relations between managers and workers have been significantly modified. Nowadays, more than ever, companies introduce new forms of work and organizational design; all activities are done in order to activate internal motivators of non-managers. Traditional role of leader(ship) has been changed, too. A hierarchical leadership approach is not confirmed in a working atmosphere, characterized by functioning of teams and completion of project activities. The global presence of business systems implies greater engagements of local staff in operational and in management activities, simultaneously. But, cultural variability of human resources should not be understood incorrectly. Observed in long term, positive effects of co-existence of different cultures, are inevitable, if correctly chosen and implemented motivational measures are completed.
