Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt at a philosophical analysis of certain objective law-governing processes in the system of feasts and rituals, its basic categories — time, space, causation, freedom, association and co-experiencing — being studied. The time of the feasts and rituals is considered as part of the leisure of man and at the same time as its special variety, preliminarily regulated and defined by objective and subjective factors. The festive and ritual space is connected with the formation of the concept of the place where a definite kind of actions are performed, in this case festive and ritual ones. The causation of the festive and ritual system is considered as one of the essential elements of the inner activity of this system, of its own movement and development. The author connects its functioning in the conditions of socialism with the freedom, determined by the concrete situation. The conclusion is drawn that the freedom of taking part in the feasts and rituals leads to qualitative changes which should be the subject of future studies. In conclusion, the importance of feasts, customs and rituals is emphasized in forming patriotic feelings, and consolidating the Bulgarian socialist nation.
