Summary/Abstract: The article looks at Freud’s psychoanalysis, the biologism and Darwinism of his views invalidating such an interpretation. Darwin understood his work ‘The Origin of Species’ as on long argument, Freud acts in a like manner – in a way all his works are such long arguments. Freud is not a Darwinist or his follower, however both authors share serialism, moreover Freud takes into account the individuality of each case. Freud’s position echoes not only that of Darwin’s, but also Foucault’s. Freud offers a genalogical approach, unveiling different techniques of existence. Freud is charactarised by nominalism as well as anti-humanism, namely, he does not create an idealised representation, illusion of a man. That enables him to see his work as destroying illusions that is especially cultivated in the psychoanalytical movement. The article looks at the context of Freud’s private life in connection with Darwin, Darwinism and destruction of illusions. The article also sketches out cultural-historical context of racism and anti-semitism. It draws parallels between the positions assumed by Freud, Darwin and Foucault.
