Summary/Abstract: The elite – or some of its members – have been in the centre of one of the biggest public conflicts in Romanian post-communism. The good news is that it has not been defeated yet. The bad news is that its opponents are still in good shape. Apart from that, the new political anarchy which is being formed in Romania offers a fundamental idea for the continuation of hostility between two cultural institutions from Romania: Tismanianu Commission and the Romanian Culture Institute.
