Summary/Abstract: From the point of view of 'philosophical logic' we have tried to undertake a critical investigation upon the problem of 'Identity'. We have done this by appealing to the framework of what is called 'the semantics of modal logic'. It means in fact to study the 'Trans-World Identity' issue concerning 'The Semantics of Possible Worlds'. The analysis of the raised matters is done especially in four steps. Firstly we have tried to point out that identity itself is a very problematic question. Secondly we have made some distinctions about the notion of 'possible world' in order to make clear the way of conceiving this issue. Thirdly we have chiefly discussed the problem of 'Trans-World Identification' and what it means for the matter in case. Finally we have outlined some solutions of the problem, putting them together as four possible conclusions. All of these conduct us to understand that a better study of the problem needs a 'ontological background' of the analysis. But it is neither the place, nor the time to enlarge upon it.
