Summary/Abstract: Assessment and recognition of non-formal and informal learning is one of the most important priorities of education policy in Europe, including Lithuania. The article analyses the topic of assessment of non-formal and informal learning achievements, discusses the conceptual barriers and theoretical guidelines of the assessment process as well as presents the validity and reliability criteria of evaluation methodologies.
