Summary/Abstract: The essay focuses on three important moments in the development of the Bulgarian-Turkish diplomatic relations in the period 1925–1934: the Treaty of Angora (1925); the Treaty between Bulgaria and Turkey on Neutrality and Arbitrage (1929); and the refusal of Bulgaria to sign an agreement with Turkey on mutual guaranteeing of their common border in Thrace (1933). The above-mentioned events are considered key-highlights not only in the relations between the two countries, they have also left a lasting imprint on the international ties in the whole region.
