Versailles, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and Trianon: Conferences on the Birth of Interwar Europe

Summary/Abstract: This is a report on an international academic conference, ‘The Birth of a New Europe: Versailles, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and Trianon and the Completion of the Post-war Peace’. Held in the Slovak Institute in Prague on 8 and 9 June 2010, the conference was organized by the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Slovak Institute in Prague, and the Slovak-Czech Society. The author particularly appreciates the fact that the papers refl ected a clear, gradual tendency towards interdisciplinary research.
