The English Element in the Romanian Language

Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at outlining the influence of the English element on contemporary Romanian, trying to point out some peculiarities of the borrowing process. From among the problems under analysis, we mention: the nature of the borrowing process and its evolution, the rate and dynamic character of the borrowing phenomena, integration of the English element in the Romanian lexis and the relationship with the international pool of Anglicisms, general peculiarities of the adaptation process and conclusions.
