Creating the Image of the Russian Federation in the United States

Summary/Abstract: The image of the Russian Federation in the United States of America is created in a complex manner; it is mainly determined by perception of Russia by the US authorities, mass media and expert teams. Political differences, as well as a number of other factors particularly related to changing position of the USSR / the Russian Federation in the global balance of power in the last decades and the domestic political, social and economic situation of Russia have an impact on the image of Russia in the USA. Accordingly, the image of Russia in the USA is subject to constant dynamic changes. From the point of view of the Kremlin, this image is of particular signifi cance due to the global impact of the policy and propaganda created in the United States.
