Growth of International Role of Germany in the Wake of Eurozone Crisis

Summary/Abstract: One of many implications of the eurozone crisis is a considerable growth of the economic and political role of Germany. Due to its potential economic and fi nancial potential as well as effective implementation of domestic reforms, the Federal Republic of Germany plays a key role in the stabilization of the eurozone. The reception of this signifi cant growth of the role of Germany in the eurozone and the EU was varied not only beyond the German borders, but also in Germany. There were opinions about domination or even hegemony of Germany. The analysis highlights the issues related to major undertakings of the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel to overcome the crisis in the eurozone.
