Summary/Abstract: This article is addressing the problem of the “popular doctrine”, as it is considered the ideological line of Europe People’s Party. It sets the doctrinaire problems regardning the gap between Christian-Democrats and the so-called “Populars”, by following the historical timetable of EPP. For the Romanian popular current, the history is shorter, and the market is dominated by the battle for the EPP membership. The conclusions of the article are that one cannot identify popularianism with Christian-Democracy, and given the context of European integration, the evolution of Romanian parties represents a benefit for the broader political life.
