Summary/Abstract: It is a well established fact that textual theater plays have a wide array and different introductions and transformations. The poems recited by Hacivat in the Karagoz theatric displays of traditional Turkish theater are known as gazels of curtain. Written in verse style of classical Turkish literature these poems are associated with the sufi dimension of the shadow theather. This study shall elaborate a current gazel form of poem of Ibn Isa Akhisari and a response of Birrî Mehmed Dede to the previous poet as a curtain gazel.
