Summary/Abstract: Learning organization attains a dominating position thanks to systematic approach to problem-solving, experimenting with new ideas, learning based on own and others’ experiences or by popularising and publicising knowledge in the whole organization [Garvin 2006, p. 58]. The paper shows the essence of organizational learning by public organization. It also presents the specificity of Polish police units’ operational improvement, as a leading institution responsible for safety and public order. It is connected with the continuous learning in order to adjust this formation to changes in its surroundings and society needs. The goal of the article is depicting some determinants which have influence on Polish police units management, as an epitome of a learning public organization.
