Summary/Abstract: The article provides insight into monthly omnibus (multi-purpose) surveys carried out by the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS). The author provides an overview of sampling schemes and methods of estimating population parameters and demonstrates that they have been modified due to steadily falling response rates. The problem of non-respondents is discussed alongside turnout levels, reasons for inaccessibility of respondents, under-representation of certain sociodemographic strata and categories as a consequence of sample drop-outs. The author proceeds to examine estimation and sampling methods as well as ways of coping with the problem of respondent unattainability. It is underlined that currently existing solutions are unsatisfactory, and the need for discussion among pollsters is highlighted.
