Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the article in question is to show a panorama of the presence of Portuguese authors in Poland after 1989 – first of all of Luís Vaz de Camões, Fernando Pessoa and José Saramago (ten novels translated, including Ensaio sobre a Cegueira reedited three times in Polish transaltion) and seven other prose writers whose works appeared in the years 1990-2010, including the allegations to the prose and poetry translations in literary press as well as some translations of the literary fiction from Lusophone Africa made recently in Poland (Pepetela and Mia Couto). Becomes proved the thesis about the Portuguese literature as being relatively well assimilated in Poland and the Polish Lusophone studies flourishing in the main academic centres in the country (Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław and Lublin) and ouside of them, thanks to the activity of prominent translators and scholars. Seems queer, however, the objective of politicization of the Portuguese translation up to the present moment in the translation goal-country.
