Short Description

Starting from no. 19 (the first months of 2013) the series „Między Oryginałem a Przekładem” („Between Originals and Translations”) will become an international journal, appearing twice a year and publishing articles on all aspects of translation studies in English, French, Spanish and Polish. The journal will be edited and financed by the Faculty of Philology (Wydział Filologiczny) of the Jagiellonian University and the Faculty of Applied Linguistics (Wydział Lingwistyki Stosowanej) of the University of Warsaw, which is reflected in the new makeup of the Editorial Committee. The journal is to be indexed in the most important data bases concerning our discipline. It is also a candidate for the ERIH-INT2 list. The articles submitted for publication will be assessed by two independent reviewers (in the case of articles in languages other than Polish at least one of the reviewers will be affiliated at an institution situated outside the author’s country). We have adopted the so-called double-blind review process, i.e. the author and the reviewers do not know each other’s identity. Articles submitted must be previously unpublished, original papers on translation. They cannot be submitted at the same time to another journal. Detailed requirements are to be found here. In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, ghostwriting protection will be used. Apart from original scholarly articles we intend to publish reviews of new publications in the field of translation studies and Polish translations of seminal texts in our discipline. Contributions to the new journal should preferably be made via e-mail (Word compatible format) to the Secretary of the Editorial Board. There are plans to make the contents of the journal additionally available on-line. However, we declare the paper version to be the original one.
