Summary/Abstract: Together with the coins, the pottery from the medieval settlement of Zimnicea, Teleorman County, provide important dating evidence placing the main habitation to the second half of the 14th century. Widely distributed in the pit houses and domestic pits, the common use pottery is the most frequent type of archaeological find in the medieval complex. Although workshops have not been identified, the non-enamelled common use pottery from Zimnicea, especially the pots, show a well developed hand-made production technique, shape and decoration, that parallels patterns mostly used in the South Danube and North of the Balkan Peninsula regions during the same period.
