THE PLACE OF SOCIO-CULTURAL COMETENCIES IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

Summary/Abstract: In the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages a special attention is paid to the plurilinguistic and multicultural competencies that allow cultural interaction between people speaking more than one language. These competencies are based on three levels: knowledge, behaviour, values. The study deals with some problems connected with their place in foreign language teaching in higher education and the possible approaches to acquiring an intercultural pedagogy.
