Summary/Abstract: Madrassas in Pakistan are subject to several criticism and forced to reform themselves. The major criticism topics are that their institutional management system is not compatible with the modern education system, they are financed and used for ideological aims, their education programs are not updated, program aims are designed with a sectarian view and the students are guided to sectarian violence. In view of these criticism, the reality of the madrassas are investigated with respect to institutional management system, education program, context of education and program outcomes. As a result, the criticism are only partially true, and the reality comes out to be much more complex than as it appears.
