Summary/Abstract: The article describes reasons and context of the first police census of Roma people after the war in Czechoslovakia. Results of the police census confounded perceptions of float age of our area by strange Roma people, by their asocial behavior, their wandering and begging. Migration of Roma people within the state was connected to problems in the east and in the return of the south of Slovakia in 1945. Attention in this article focuses on analysis of police census in Kosice with some links to former evidence.
