Summary/Abstract: The paper is exploring changes in perception of ancient 'Illyrians' in historical interpretation, focusing on current phase of deconstruction of the term 'Illyrians' in post-Yugoslav era. The paper suggests necessary changes in scholarly approach to research of pre-Slavic identities in space of ancient Illyricum.
