Summary/Abstract: The article tracks down the development of major aspects of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan emphasising on the contemporary processes during the period 1991. 2001, or namely after the independent Republic of Uzbekistan was found. In the beginning is noted that the problem concerning the formation and the historical path of the Bulgarian diaspora within the territories of the Turkestan general governor in the Russian Empire is poorly researched. Precisely their presence has been the motive for the favourable tendency in the bilateral relations and attitudes. The second part of the article follows the specific processes and events in the political, economic and cultural dialog between both countries. The political future definitely can be foreseen in the light of the vigorous rapprochement between the countries from central Asia and the European Union. Despite the short-term hinders and problems, the geoeconomic and geopolitical sense of this dialog will contribute to the idea for European-Asian collaboration that will indubitably dominate during the 21-st century.
