Summary/Abstract: The article presents architectural characteristic of Otman Baba’s türbe in the village of Teketo, Haskovo Region. A building of a worship used mainly by heterodox Muslims living in our country, the shrine is being investigated for the first time. The türbe was built in 1505/6 (or in 1507/8). It is a monumental heptagonal building made of stones and having a low columned antechamber. The article gives basic information about the size of the building, as well as some historical data about its existence. Special attention has been paid to the fact that the heptagonal corpse of the place for offering kurban (animal sacrifices) is without an analogue in XIX c. Islamic cult architecture, but is identical with the one specifying the XVI c. türbes preserved in Bulgaria until nowadays and represented by shrines dedicated to Kademli Baba, Akyazılı Baba and Demir Baba. It is also identical with the imaret of the türbes of Kademli Baba and Akyazılı Baba. The author points that the türbe of Otman Baba could be said to be a central place for offering kurban by the heterodox Muslims from South-eastern Bulgaria. There are also investigated other topoi located in the territory of the türbe under consideration. The article ends with a comment on the religious taboo on using the name of Otman by the Shii Muslims and particularly among the heterodox ones.
