Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper was to reveal the factors determining the process of innovation implementation and the types of innovations implemented in farms. Any changes introduced on purpose in farms, which aimed to replace foregoing solutions by new ones, were acknowledged as innovations. The study was done with the use of a questionnaire among young farmers, residents of Ciechanów district. The empiric material was obtained on the grounds of the studies carried out on 30 purposely selected farms in 2013. Each analyzed farm run by a young farmer implemented at least one innovation. In crop production 27,5 % of the general innovations referred to machinery. The innovations in livestock production concerned the innovations in farm buildings, involving conformity to sanitary and veterinary requirements, animals’ wellness, extending herds or willing to rationalize and facilitate work with animals. General innovations involved machinery and tractors purchases. 95% investigated farms belonging to young farmers financed their investments with the use of the European Union supporting funds.
