A Day in the Life of an Empowered for Religious Denominations – from the Administration to the Exercise of Authority

Summary/Abstract: The present article offers a possible portrait of the Empowered for religious denominations. This work profile was structured in the late 1940s and early 1950s and was subject to a change around 1952 when one can see a shift from a person administering the state authority to one exercising the authority over the religious denominations. The article, based on archival material from the State Secretary for Religious Denominations Archives, looks at the profile of the person controlling, at what is controlled and at who controls whom, the response of the religious denominations to the activity of the Empowered in the early 1950s when the mechanism of State - Church relationship is established.
