Summary/Abstract: Modern companies spend huge amounts of money on the acquisition and maintenance of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems which automate their business processes. This expenditure composes a significant part of their whole IT budget. Unfortunately, according to practical researches, these investments are not always used efficiently, because companies use only a small part of the implemented ERP systems’ functionality. Moreover, usually through time they use less and less systems’ functions. Therefore, it is very important to periodically evaluate the ERP systems’ usage efficiency. It is necessary to have tools for such evaluation. The authors of the article have accumulated a several years’ experience in using “The Accounting Library” (TAL) decision support system in ERP software selection projects. They suggest to expand this system by adapting it for performing evaluations of ERP functionality usage. The described methods could be used also for developing specialized ITaudit tools.
