Summary/Abstract: The author presents a brief look at the most conspicuous correspondences, similarities, but mainly differences between literary Polish and Slovak language in the field of morphology and word-formation. These correspondences and similarities result from the genetic and geographical proximity of the compared languages. Differences (mainly in the distribution of several phenomena) are related to separate, independent development of Polish and Slovak language and also to their different relations with the foreign cultures and languages.
