Summary/Abstract: This article considers differences of Onegin-Strophe in Russian and Lithuanian. The lines in Russian impress by power of intellectual reflection, but their rational "design" prevails over language intuition. The lyric subject in the Russian Onegin-Strophes by Baltrushaitis is semiotic by its nature. The Onegin-Strophe is used by Baltrushaitis for introduction to his poem Dulkes ir zvaigzdes. This strophe is a unique example of synthesizing the Russian novel in verse cultural tradition initialized by A. Poushkin's Eugene Onegin and the Lithuanian poetic tradition. The lyric subject conveys the peculiarities of national mentality and identity.
