Summary/Abstract: What does the term ‘cultural times’ mean to you? Iza Kowalczyk, an art historian and critic answers this question in a straightforward way: “To me cultural times are a magazine. A very important magazine related to my first publications when I was still an art history student. Here, in the editorial office of Czas Kultury, my first texts were published. These were written when I still lacked a personal distance to the changes made within them. Here, in the seat of Obserwator, the catalogues were developed for the first exhibitions that I organised. I remember them with tenderness.” Cultural times were a starting point for Iza Kowalczyk’s professional career, a starting point and a time which she writes about with unconcealed sentiment. Time flowed differently then. The current work tempo constitutes an extreme contrast to Iza Kowalczyk’s first love, as she refers to her cooperation with the magazine which she has found to be an extremely valuable experience.
