Summary/Abstract: The first part of the study underlines the importance given to bodily appearances. Today the fight for identity and social acceptance is undertaken with the help of an aesthetic project: we remove what bothers us, we render what is seductive. The second part of the study is devoted to the exaggerations and the ethical issues that this aesthetic transformation of life has led to: from material, spiritual, moral etc endowment to bodily endowment which has to last. The third part suggests three ethical perspectives in response to the aesthetic transformation of life and the excessive importance given to appearances.
