Among the subjects she worked out are these about St. John Koukouzeles, the repertory of “Bolgarskij Rospev” recorded in Ukrainian and Russian chant books in the 17th and 18th centuries, the chants designated as “Bulgarian” in sources in Greek from the 14th through the 19th centuries, the Putna manuscripts from the 16th century, and many others. Toncheva also, managed to establish a scientific school of talented musicologists who continued her study in the field of Old Bulgarian music.
