Liabilities of households in monetary financial institutions

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyse the structure and dynamics of monetary financial institutions loans and other claims on households in Poland. The research was carried out on the basis of National Bank of Poland data from 2000 to 2011. The analysis shows that in the structure of household’s loans and other claims the share of long-term loans (original maturity over 5 years) as well as the share of loans denominated in foreign currency increased. The dynamic of household’s liabilities decreased from 2009, what is convergent with the beginning of the financial crisis.
