Summary/Abstract: The world of business is frequently depicted in metaphorical terms as a battle field where wars are fought with mass-destruction weapons, bombs are fired and guerilla strategies are used to kill enemies. The present article sets out to answer the question whether war metaphors are cognitively and connotatively appropriate to refer to the business stage as it actually functions.
