Summary/Abstract: The project – Signs & Meaning: To Read – an active search of the meaning – deals with the problem of the comprehension of meaning in the process of reading at the level of the verbal text as well as at the level of the non-verbal text. Its aim resides in the construction of an initial and continuing education module that would address to a wide public. Within this module, we shall endeavour to discover the obstacles that appear when reading and to offer didactic strategies able to surmount the difficulties encountered. The fundamental scientific and pedagogical instrument we used is mental management whose key concept is the notion of evocation.
