Translation as a Form of Assuming Concepts and Mentalities

Summary/Abstract: Although it involves certain risks of reduction, deceit or limitation, translation can be a way for the human spirit to rise above the immediate community and assume patterns, concepts, mentalities, relations and ways of seeing the world that different communities have reached by specifi c particular methods. The theory is illustrated with the different translations of the verse 19 chapter 1 of the Exodus.
