Summary/Abstract: he object of this article is the relationship between post-structural theory and changes in theatrical representation. The post-structural concepts related to the main trajectories of transformations of theatrical elements such as body, perception, representation of reality and changes in hierarchy of the structural elements of performance are the following: critique of the sign and representation; critique of the subject and presence; deconstruction of the logocentristic notion of center. The resistance to traditional constructions of reality in contemporary theatre is influenced by post-structural theory and changes in the notions of art work, reality, representation, subject and perception. Contemporary theatre reflects and deconstructs its own past; it is from itself, its own substance that theatre proliferates by imitating, repeating, parodying, and retracting its own representational devises.
