Dedication in the light of linguistic genology

Summary/Abstract: Dedication as a part of editorial structure of a work has been studied by bibliographers and historians of book and literature. The article offers an introduction to the problems of ‘discourse of dedication’; the Old Polish letter of dedication is treated here as an literary genre defined by the intentional character of the act of work donation.
